Pressure Grouting is the process of drilling holes by air or water rotary and maintaining a vertical alignment. A cementitious grout material is injected under pressure to fill cavities and voided pockets. The grout hose is placed at the bottom elevation of the hole and is raised as the grout level increases. In weak soils, typically the holes are encased with PVC pipe. The depth of the holes is determined by the soil conditions.

Pressure grouting is used to increase the soil parameters (bearing pressure) of soils prior to implementing new construction. This process is also used to fill mine shafts.
