Franklin County, Missouri, was in need of a new Government Center.
Two sides of the proposed structure were adjacent to a nearby roadway. This presented potential soil sloughing onto the adjacent roadway, multiple utilities, and right of way encroachment concerns.
In order to prevent soil sloughing onto the roadway on either side of the structure, a system needed to be installed which would retain soil during the construction of the new facility.
Helitech installed a Temporary Earth Retention System, consisting of A. B. Chance Helical Soil Screws, steel wire mesh, drain tile, and a shotcrete facing. The system provided an economical solution and a 20% savings for the owner.
